Ten-four Darron.

Nice talking to you again.

I did email an inquiry about recalibrating my "tampered with" limiter to Jeff Keesaman at Neu motors to see what is his recommendation. In any regard, the limiter is programmable so assuming the new bullets didn't throw it off too much, I can always reprogram it accordingly.

Thanks again.

Tim

1st flight 2015

Finally time for flying some faster planes.

first time for the DUP 6.25x11 with a 35mm middle piece. Also magaged to fix a decent spinner.

26krpm after 2-3 sec run and rather cold weather. Tried to install the GPS inside of the fuse, unfortunately it didnt work at all so i have no clue of the speed

Anyone who can give a good guess what i can expect in speed ?

You will have a smaller diameter and pitch because that blade is designed around 42mm yoke, so 5.9x10? Best guess maybe 180 to 200 mph airspeed. 7x10 F5D will get you faster for not much more amps!

Getting another Avionik D05 going for F5D...

Gonna try those KSTX08 servos on the ailerons (powered by 2S LiFe) - metal gears (I usually prefer resin gears), metal case and only 8mm thick.

Got the base colors and clear coat on the fuse. (the finished fuse on the right is last year's). Gonna leave the wing alone.

From a little research I've done, if you buy KSTX08 servos get them from Hobby Club to make sure they are the latest V3.0:

10-4 Jay!

FYI, it was Bruce DeChastel who turned me onto these servos (he didn't outright recommend them for me, but said he was using them, so....).

Here's also a link to a discussion thread I found right here in Groups:

Take care and I'll certainly report.

Hey, Tim;

great building. Very nice color. You seem to have given up the use of the aileron D47s. Why?

I read that the KST X08 V3, positive feedback. Also; Very quite cheap servos.

Hi Young Wings.

Thank you for the compliment.

I haven't really given up on the Dymond D47 servos. What prompted me to try them in the first place was I saw one of the teams at the World Championships was using them - it was either the Germans or the Czeks (or both?) I forget. I also believe Bruce DeChastel recommends D47s in his EVO5 Dominator F5D.

However, I inquired with Bruce and he said he stopped using D47s when he started going sub 60's (or sub 55 or some time thereabouts). That's when he said he was using the KST servos, so I followed suit.

One of my other pylon racing friends is using D47s on ailerons and elevator in his Avionik.
