Yeah,that motor will work,it has a "prop saver" built into the other end,on the end bell! We just put one on a CY this afternoon. You can take a dremel and cut off, the extended shaft on the front (or rear end for our purposes). The one we used today is the same motor but a 1800KV,and it has some pretty impressive power with the 8 X 4.3 prop on it. It also turned a 9 x 4.7 prop well,and I didn't expect that out of a 1800 KV motor. Most either run hot,or draw alot of amps,with a 9 inch prop on them. The 1500KV motor ought to be a real "torquer"! I have made some more progress on the Crack Yak for Realflight 6. I have added the trusses, battery, receiver, ESC, and a bunch of wires connecting all the stuff.

It is about time to start mapping this thing so that it actually has the right color scheme.

A friend told me I needed a Crack Yak.

I went ahead and got one even though I had several Yaks.

The other Yaks are going to the swap meet!

I have some of the 9 and 5 gram hxt servos already. Are these the same servos as the TowerPro are an acceptable substitute? Thanks

They fly great! I just finished another one for a friend Dwayne,and we used a "heavy" motor on it. A exceed Rocket 2205-1800 KV (33g). It flys great,and has tons of power! He maidened it yesterday in 10-17 mph wind,and it had NO problem flying through it! Our flight times were a little short,but we were flying against the wind most of the time,so if it EVER calms down it will be interesting to see,the real power of this motor. Ron

That is going to depend in part how long it takes me to figure out mapping in Blender 2.62. They changed it significantly from blender 2.49. I might end up just mapping under 2.49. Anyway, more info than you wanted.

Best guess is probably sometime next week.

OK, pressed the confirm and pay button on the CY.

Flew the Slick steady all last summer, now fly'n the new Edge 540 (love it) and expect the same if not more off the Crack Yak.

Just hope the TH guys don't come out with anything new for the next few months to give my wallet a chance to heal..

Funny how this all came about. I had set aside some bucks for the HK Sbach, a big scale look'n plane and then, after watching some "Twisted" videos I realized I was having more fun with my old Slick than the several beautiful scale look'n "hanger queens" hanging in my basement. I know the little profile foamies don't get the attention that the big scale jobbies do, but I sure get a bigger bang out of fly'n them.

My Crack Yak is doing good. Probably getting close to 60 70 flights on it in about a week.

The only problem is that my 5 gram servo on the rudder sometimes looses center. I can't complain for the price though. Usually only when I try some faster maneuvers.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a inexpensive Rx for my Hitec Aurora?
