There are two ways to display the video:
- goggles
- laptop with video to USB adapter / old TV / monitor (any size)

I don't know of any reason that there is a size limit on the monitor, other than it needs to be in a dark box.

I use my WinXP laptop with an EasyCap video to USB converter and the software that came with the EasyCap.

If you have got a laptop, then it is the cheapest route, and I believe it is best for a beginner to start with a display, like a laptop. With any display such as a laptop, you will have to build a dark box to use it in sunlight. A 2 - 3 foot cardboard box with the laptop in one end and a hole in the other end to fit your face will keep all the light out.

It's kind of funny watching that video. They had the skew-wheel and helicals which should have been the stars of the show. Unfortunately they missed the most important factor of circular polarization: multipath rejection. My guess is they didn't know about it.

They still owe me (and Kevin) a free T-shirt for the helical antenna...

I dont know the polarity of the power to the receiver.
I have this cable with 2 wires, one is black the other one is black with withe stripes. which one is + and -.
Normally you have red for+ and black for - .
i am afraid to connect it the wrong way, i think it does not have protection for inverted polarity.

I'm just wondering if these cores found on a lot of cables can be used instead of toroids to reduce interference?

I'm sure they won't cause any problems. Was just wondering if anyone knows if they're as good as toroids or worse.

Also, can you run multiple wires through the same core?

depending on size I loop servo wire around and through it, but mine has a small opening so I can loop only once, should be enough.

Use a magnifying glass to look at the writing on the power supply that came with it. There will be a symbol that looks like a capital C with a line coming out of each side. It is a representation of the polarity of the plug.

Also be aware that 99% of these have + on the center pin. I have heard exactly one report of one wired the other way, but I believe that report may have been wrong.

Toroids will stop RF interference. You generally need to loop it through several times to be effective.

Toroids will not stop the 8khz to 16khz interference from the ESC/motor that can be caused by the very high current draw of wide open throttle while using the same battery for the motor and the FPV.

Perhaps I have been lucky. I have never had any reason to add a toroid.

I would only add one after determining that it actually needed it.

i am flying with futaba 2.4rc and currently using 900mhz video
i just acquired another video tx rx with the following frequencies ... which one will best suit my futaba 2.4rc without too much damage in the secondary harmonics ??
1 1080MHZ
2 1120MHZ
3 1160MHZ
4 1200MHZ

how far apart does the video frequencies have to be in order not to interfere with each other (assuming range between 900mhz to 1.2ghz) ?
planning on flying FPV together ...

Avoid channel 4 for the harmonics and you will be fine, seperate video channels by 100mhz
