Great radio and price but it makes you wonder why the bigger names in this hobby will try and sell their radios at two to three times as much as this one, with or with out some of these features.

HK are showing why so many of us are shopping with them more and more, with products like this coming up on their website,i still pop over to HK just about every day as i'd hate to miss out on whats coming next.

Order some sharpies, or black or grey paint.

Or a solver sharpie.

The color is embarrassing... looks like a toy.... people will laugh. But the price IS SOOO tempting.

But I have been saving up for a 9X for almost 5 months, and now I am waiting for the 9XR (Announced just when I was about to order one)

AAAHHHH!!!!

JUST RELEASE IT ALREADY!
OR PREORDER THEM!

Looks like the case is very similar to my JR 9503 but with a smaller screen. I learned my lesson when I bought a 9X. I got burned once it wont happen again.

The FlySky protocol sucks...

But this is Spektrum... The Spektrum DSM protocol. Any planes or receivers that works on your DX6i or DX8 or JR DSM2/DSMX radios will bind with this. Great for those who want to save and get the Bind and Fly withoug paying $200 for a radio!

I know exactly what it is and what protocol it uses. I also know what the quality of the 9X was like which has zero to do with what protocol the radio uses. I had a FrSky telemetry setup for mine anyway not the flysky. If the quality of this thing is anything like the 9x I would avoid it. And just for the record I don't really care for the spektrum radios either. I have a DX6i, DX8 and JR9503 sitting here. They all work fine but the programming on the 9503 is mile ahead of the spektrum radios.

The reviews on the HK site seem pretty good, but these are mere users that actually have one in their hands and not long time forum dudes that have been around and know all there is to know. I'd be more tempted to believe what a non owner but master forum mod person has to say. They is da bomb, just ask em. There is no substitute for someone that knows they are right.

Will be interesting to see if more are released or if it was a short run sort of thing. Still think for the money it looks like a park flier winner.

Don't be foolish enough to order if it's out of stock. Use Paypal.

Is this like an oxymoron?

Don't order but make sure you use PayPal when you don't order? Or does this apply to any purchase. Always use Paypal when you aren't going to make an order?

Backorders are backorders. A savy person would simply contact the Customer support of any vendor and ask for an indication of when the item may be back in stock. The other option is to simply backorder the item and wait. The option is always there to cancel for refund if the Backorder is taking a long time. I'd suggest BO on these radios would be fairly large.
