There's a plastic nose guard that you can buy (very light, clear) which rocks for both the F-86 and the MiG. Hard to recommend these too highly, IMO. They can be found here:

I just put 4 batteries through my F86 yesterday, before the snow came in. I forgot how much fun it was to fly.

Do you need to launch with full throttle?

I always do. With a firm level toss.

I found the best launch is full throttle, underhand and slightly upward that brings my right hand up to the Tx quickly.

I do a shoulder toss at about 2/3 to 3/4 throttle. Sabre flies out rock-steady with a slight climb. I found full-throttle hand-launch often led to the Sabre-dance, even with a dime under the battery to move the cg forward.

I found a swift toss into the trash satisfying.

Well. I finally got some time and a break in the wind to take my little f-86 out again. I must start by admitting an embarrassing fact. My issues on my maiden flight were my own fault. I neglected to do one of the most important things before maiden or any flight...the pre flight check. I did do it this time and noticed that all of my controls were reversed...yeah. Anyhow! Upon this discovery I'm sure you can imagine that things were quite a bit different. This little jet flies fantastic! Nice and smooth and quite quick as well. I need to get used to not stalling as it seems to be a little sensitive at lower speeds but all in all I love it! Glad I bought two so I can enjoy the next one without the unfortunate mistakes!
