@francico u ere right that the stock 939 gear barely moves the airy 780, u are wrong about the weight . if one removes the weight upfront the airframe comes down to 45 - 50 gramms. if u now add 939 brick , one 4,3gr srvo and a 150 u get a full house glider under 70gramms. and it rocks.
and your flying and buildingskills really speak for themselves

does anybody know where to get ball bearings for a HH champ gearbox? my smallest have a 2.2 id. best would be a hint where to "harvest " them(without destroying my few sub 10gramm bl s)

A good lesson here is that Francisco's success is due in part to his good aerodynamic design.

The high aspect ratio helps off-set a higher weight than we usually would see used with that powerplant.

The generous tip dihedral provides hands-off roll stability, and ensures good roll response to the rudder.

The long tail moment arm assures good response to the rudder and elevator, while also damping pitch and yaw rates in turbulence. A sorta kinda poor mans AS3X.

Kudos to Francisco for showing us how to design, build, and learn to fly in one fell swoop.

@borkencorter, well, I will have to get one then Although I still need to practice a lot..

@dayhead My only merit was choosing the right section of the forum and righ threads to subscribe, this design is my fellow rcgroupie Springer:

Yet you are correct about all its virtues, it truly is a great but simple plane to put together : )

Thanks

Thanks for the coments guys. I started the design last year but have started to get back to designing and finishing the design.

The laser cutting cost nothing as its my laser cutter, well technically it cost about 2500 😊

Hi scousethief, yes that's how it's done, I went to wickes diy shop, and In the wall paper section they sell this 5 for 10 metereshttp://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Polys...e-10m/p/105968

It's very bendy to curve around the fuselage shape, but it rips very easily if you try to cut it with not so sharp cutting blade.
