It's the same plane.

Multiplex seems to be marketing the RR and RTF versions of the ES2 under the hitec label in the US.

It's exactly the same plane except the decals.

Sorry, but with all of the ES type aircraft already on the market plus the ES II I don't see the marketing wisdom here.

What Hitec needs is one of these rascals in the 36" wingspan size.

Seems easy enough to understand. They want to market the plane with Hitec brand electronics at varying levels of completion. This has proven to be popular with Spektrum and Parkzone/E-flite, even when there were questions about DSM2.

I like Hitec stuff, but they really need to give some attention to their radios. The 4 and 5 channel Txs are unattractive and too basic (no dual rate switch even?), the Optic 6 looks and feels really dated, the Eclopse 7 "Pro" is missing features like servo travel limit, and the Aurora definitely needs a refresh. I think they're going to have problems remaining relevant in the Radio market without a different approach, and this also impacts the success of the airplanes that include the radio equipment.

I am all for supporting a USA company but the price your asking for this airplane makes it hard to be patriotic.

Have you looked at what similar airplanes in this category are selling for?

Considering what the E* normally goes for, as well as being filled with hitec gear, I don't think their prices are out of line. Sure, some people would rather go to Harbor Freight, strip down a Wild Hawk, dump some cheap running gear in it, and that's fine. I totally understand. Though, I've never seen one of those rip-offs thermal at my local field. They're usually all beat up. I have seen a number of E*s thermalling, doing acro, and generally outperforming those planes in nearly every aspect.

I'll be looking at getting a Scout, but I won't be using the graphics. I'll likely go for hi-vis orange or pink tips topside and some invasion stripes on the bottom. I trust my Multiplex Evo/Hitec 2.4 rig further than I trust my eyes to be able fly.

Hi Mike,
The old EZ Star brushed motors were replaced with the Hitec 3000 and higher KV inrunner motors and with a 6x3 APC prop they are much faster.
Rather than tell every one not to experiment with non stock motors can you or Hitec come up with a do not exceed KV for the new stock folding prop/spinner?
I would hate to see somebody get hurt when a blade separated from the hub. Hopefully a 3000 KV motor on 2 cells will not overstress the blades, spinner, and O ring parts of the new prop.

I don't think there is such a hard number. The spinner is similar to the one used on the Blizzard that we have run at well over 600 watts.

Ok, let's have a look here:

the stock setup uses 3s and a 1100kV motor, that's a theoretical rpm of approx. 13.200 rpm max in a dive.

using 2s and a 3000kV motor, that's a theoretical rpm of approx. 24.000 rpm max in a dive.

7x6" Aeronaut Cam Props are limited to 16.000 rpm.

A Kansas KBI Agent I knew. Directed me to the Multiples EasyStar to get re-started
HAVE NEVER BEEN SORRY. On great Trainer RC.
Do not care who ownes it. If the HITEC SKY SCOUT is the same RC as the EasyStar.
It has my vote.
Remember, Kansas winds. I can fly in 15+ with no problems.
