Very nice first flight!!
Have you tried to run the fan without the Fod-guard? Would be interesting to know the difference.

Well done

Dude... that looked to fly really nice

I'm surprised how well the FOD screen worked. I emailed Daniel about it a couple years ago and he said no way, but that's good peace of mind and the plane fly great... love the mountains in the background

Very impressive. What sort of flight times do you expect with the 8ah battery setup?

I have to wonder how much the FOD screen degrades performance? I never used them on my turbines either.

Reinhard iv been waiting patently for your flight on this jet , seems to fly very nicely. How do you like it compared to the 1/8th scale one in terms of its handling and wing loading?
Do you feel its worth the extra $1k over 1/8th scale price?
Are you still planning on sticking a turbine into it later on?

I like the fod guard

Hi,

thank´s for your comments,

yes, i had testrun the Fan without the FOD and with the FOD guard but only on little power and there was no much different in thrust. I must do a full throttle run up now with the scale to see the difference. But i really had a better mind to use this thing, on my Turbine i also use it and after every flight from the grass there are some small grasspieces on the FOD guard. Without that, this would be directly go into the Turbine which i think is not the best
A friend told me he did this 3 flights and then the Turbine had to go to the Service.

@Simon, this F16 fly really nice and it is a good size between the 1/8 and the 1/6
and maybe you know, the bigger the better they fly
The price difference between the 1/8 and the 1/6,75 is 700 USD for the same colour scheme but here you get also the Cockpit which is not included in the 1/8
Well, this thing with a K100 would be my choice, maybe someday

@Robert, i set the Motorrun time to 4 min, so 4:30 is about the flying time.

My Telemetry System for this flight showed,
max. Amp 177, max Watt 9402 and max. ESC temp 32° Celsius with a temp sensor on the ESC

Hi,

well,
today i made a full Power thrust test with the FOD guard and noticed no significant thrustloss to my earlier Testrun without it.
So for me it´s clear, this thing stay´s on, better safe then sorry, like my friend Stephan (Shamu) who lost the frontwheel during flight on his F16 and it´s unbelievable but the Fan sucks it in

Yeah, f..ck, this was a hard day, but the Plane has survived, the Schübeler Fan is repaired and the bird is flying again :-)

What happened? That pic of the Shube is painful.

Better days ahead.

Hello again,

last weekend i was able to make the 3. Flight of my F16.
A Big thank´s to Mark for producing this nice Video.
The only Problem i had was a reduced Power from over 1 Kw because the temps where at 10° celsius and the Lipos where charged 2 days before flying and not warmed up. So i flew this Bird with about 7000 W insteed of normaly 8500- 9300 W
