FPV IR-Dogfight
Hey yo, remember fpv dustruction derby? the low pass flying by.
anyway, the evolution is here - IR dogfight.
see the greed led turns red? it means got hit by a hostile's ir gun and got cut-out the throttle for 3 seconds(you also get a warning alert *BEEEEEEEPPP* (means you are locked on) the rule is simple, lock on the hostiles and force 'em hitting the ground. come to taipei and we dogfight each other ![]() the sky would be hella busy! |

BushmanLA, mount the launcher on the wing(front) and the reciever on the back near rudder. The interference is while the flight right above the antennas that occcurs. not a big deal. Sorry, no pictures that's my local fpv partners in crime's video clip. I myself don't have a high-wing airframe to dogfight with 'em. I'm not sure about the angle but the distance is 10-15 Meters.
SoMoney, it's not parkzone combat module yet. Tarro, you are right, these are not sonic modules. they tried it during day time and it becomes very hard to detect weak ir beam. Anyway it's still developing now it's gen2. Hopefully it'll be done and suitable for daytime dogfighting. Meanwhile, fighting every saturday night is the choice. Tarro, I like your slotcar vid-cap, thanks for sharing! that brought back some good old memories!

The IR Dogfight is made by a friend of mine. You probably can't find it on any model shops unless my friend find a dealer in your area.
And it's kinda on beta stage, we are testing the throttle lock up duration. Now it's 3 seconds, might be modefied to 5 seconds or greater throttle lock up time. Some suggest lock up everything except ailerons or block video transmittion. LOL which one you think is meaner? |

However, it looked as though it would be harder to stay in the air with 5 seconds throttle Are you guys using 2.4GHz for video? |

we mainly use 1.2GHz, as 2.4GHz is way too polluted in taipei.
there's a program called wireless taipei which allows you to access internet thru 2.4ghz wireless for free. so literally no way to use 2.4ghz, you'd be blind after certain distance. oh well, then this can be an idea of "E-fence for the dogfight field" once you leave the field, you'd be blind. good idea! good idea! ![]() the one who made the thing told me 3 seconds is for beta test & also let our beta tester to get a chance to familiar with that throttle cut. once everyone is getting used to, 5 seconds will be the standard. i'm thinking locking upto 5 times and you will lose your throttle for good. and that'd be more like a dogfight.

Why not make the throttle lock adjustable so the end user can decide what works best for them. You don't want to make it to bad or you will lose planes alot, is there a way to keep track of the hits on each plane and keep score?
