FMA CPD4 Co Pilot for Stryker?

Hi, I just came across this item, http://www.fmadirect.com/detail.htm?...489&section=20

Has anyone used one?
Can it be used with elevons?
The site says you must have one servo for elevator and one servo for roll.
BUT.....
I have read posts of people using them in Strykers (different model?)

Any Info?

Hi Guys

Maybe if you used a electronic mixer it should work. Otherwise I would think No.

I just got CPD4 and user manual does explain flying wing installation.
Looks like you just set dipswitch for wing, no extra mixer needed.
I'll try it on my Stryker tomorrow if weather OK.

Today I tested CPD4, it works on flying wing!
Setup and calibration takes little, I was amazed to see plane flying stright with TX turned off ! You can tell it's correcting elevons at rate about 0.5hz.
May be not perfect stabilazer for AP but flying made easy even for total beginner.

with throw set high it wil be very difficult to crash and boring to fly.
to take full advantage you need to set fail-safe so controls go to 50% (1.5ms pulse), some DSP receivers hold last valid signal while CDP4 needs sticks in the middle.
The sensor shoud not face warm battery or motor, I made a little pod - see picture of AP Slinger. Funny thing that today I crashed my Stryker when transmitter died, had I CPD4 today(not yesterday) I could run to my car and get another transmitter to land the Stryker. Murfy's law works !
