I run new gensace 5300, my setup is high amp 450 kv on an 18x8. It will puff and heat up old batteries. I like the speed i get on the 18x8 but still have lots of pull out.

yea higher amps are tough on the older generation packs. need a higher c-rating to handle that..

Motrolfly 4330-300 Update

Hey Guys. Thought I would post some numbers on the new 4330 wound to 300 KV that Ken made up for me. First of all the motor itself weighs about an ounce less than the Hacker A60-6xs that I had in there initially. Not a thing wrong with the Hacker I just wanted a little more punch.
Heres my setup
1x 30c 5300 Gensace 6s pack combined with 1x 30c Gensace 2s pack to make an 8s pack. Ice HV 110, BEC PRO, Savox 1258's, 20x11 Mejzlik prop.
On initial start it spiked to just above 3000 watts at 101-103 amps and settled to around 2930 watts at 98-100 amps. Freshly charged and relatively new batts. Real nice numbers there. Now I was initially concerned about temps because after about 20 seconds of playing around the motor temp itself reached 114 degrees. Asked Ken about it and he informed me that the motor would take a few runs to move some of the excess grease out of the bearings and should run cooler afterwards. I will also test a Xoar 20x10 later today to check some numbers. Below iis the email I sent Ken after yesterdays flights

Okay Ken. This motor is the cats meow so to speak. Using a 20x11 Mejzlik prop, Castle HV 110, BEC Pro, 1x 6s 5300 30c and 1x 2s 5300 30c to make a 30c 8s 5300 batt I tested it in flight today. Remember I was a little concerned about the temps getting warm? Well no worries there. Flew 3 minutes and landed to test temps. Outside temps are at 66 degrees, after 3 mins. flying time temp was 102 degrees. That is with a spinner on so no direct air going to the front of the motor, I do however have baffles directing air to the mid/back of motor. Took her up for 6 minutes doing a lot of uplines with mid to full throttle pulls and mild aerobatics, motor after 6 minutes- 106 degrees at the rear of the motor, batts are at 74 degrees. The power is wonderful to say the least. Rarely needed or used full throttle but I sure liked to have it when I did want it. Perfect motor and thanks for all your hard work.

Really like this motor. I will say that as a lot of people know this is a slightly tail heavy airframe, and even with the extra batt. in the nose shes still slightly tail heavy, but I'm used to her that way so I'm more than satisfied. Gensace batts come in on the light side compared to some so some heavier batts would not hurt it in the least. Hope these numbers help.

My friend and I are going to pick up a couple of 3DHS 74" Edge planes when they are available at the beginning of Nov. I'm looking for the best setup for our Gens Ace 6S 5300 30C lipos.

We already have
ESC Castle HV 100
Castle Pro Bec
Several Gens Ace 5300 30C lipos
20x 10 Xoar props

My question is should we go with the 3DHS recommended Hacker A50-12L or go with the A60-6XS V2 28 Pole Outrunner. I've gone over every post in this thread and I'm getting confused has to what setup will deliver the best punch out in a Hover. Will the flight time be the same?

We like to fly slow 3D

Thanks

A60-6XS as the plane tends to be tail heavy....
