5~6C charge rates all the time on my 2S Hyps.

I don't go above 2C charge rates on the stock 2S E-flite packs.

I've been charging the stock batteries at 1c as I wasn't sure if they could take a charge higher than that.

I've got a bunch of 1s Turnigy batteries that I've been charging at 1c however I've been thinking of trying to charge those at a higher rate. According to the HK website they list the max charge rate at 10c. They must be outta their minds. I'd never charge that battery at 10c.

I do hear a lot of people charge their hyp's at 5c. Next time I buy batteries I'll be buying Hyps and give them a shot. They are considerably more than the turnigy's but they probably last a hell of a lot longer.

I was wondering this as well....can you charge the stock batteries at a higher rate or will it use them up faster?

I wouldn't charge them at over 1C. That's just asking for trouble.

I adjusted the CG a little and now it flies really well at slow speeds. My initial CG measurement of 18mm was off by a good bit. Late night brain fart I guess. I had to move the battery wayyy back to set it up at 18mm.

LOL, I always charged my Turnigy and NanoTech in the Celectra charger, so almost 2C and I was thinking I was pushing them way too much already. At 10C, they would probably jump out of the charger and I run away from my house and never be seen them again....

Nope, it was gone from the tree, and the park people claim no one turned anything in.

Chalk it up to experience.....

Way back when, I sent Horizon an email about charge rates on their E-Flite packs. I was told that 2C would be fine.

That's tough,i have treed a plane and turning off the tx and turning your back,walking away while your plane is up there is not a good feeling at all.

The Beast is on my short list...practicing with the T-28 right now.

Thanks -- even at the lower throttle settings that I tried to use, it was just so fast that my mind could not keep up, so I'm hoping that the large wingspan powered glider I have coming in will let me get my orientations down pat at a more leisurely pace, so that eventually *I* will be deciding where the Beast goes instead of the other way around!

Sorry you lost her.

My advice would be to force yourself to fly higher.
As soon as you get below 2 mistakes high; get back up there.
Altitude is your friend while you are learning.
'Three mistakes high' kind of stuff.

All you needed was more flight time on her.
Resist the stunts for awhile and work on some of the basics.
Controlled symmetrical figure 8 with no change in altitude throughout.
It's all about getting in enough actual flight time so that the plane is not flying you.
