Cool
Graupner 1:150 Yamato Workshop

For those interested in Graupner's new 1:150 Yamato, here's what the assembly line looks like at the Chinese shipyard that makes them.

I often wonder if any of those assembly workers ( as they aren't modellers by any stretch of the imagination) actually know any of the history of the ships that they assemble, or what significance the actual ship that the model is based upon had in history.

Incredible photo just the same.

They're just trying to put food on their table and raise their families.

I'm sure given the holiday we just celebrated 2 days ago that Graupner made sure their new Yamato was loaded onto the container along with other models & sent to the port before any patriotic worker decided to take a sledge to them after watching the lead up to this Thursday's parade in Beijing. The only thing on TV for the past week were anti-Japanese war dramas and military shows.

The official holiday name is "The 70th anniversary day of the victory of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japanese aggression".

Doubt that will ever come about but if it was you can bet China's leadership will be making hay out of it. They're always looking for reasons to whip up nationalist fervor to keep the masses distracted.
