Another kyosho Hor thread

Hi guys,

I've been running bikes ever since the TTR came out and have participated
in this great forum when i got it. ( about 10 years ago).
Now i own, the TTR , a gpv, A hor, The kyosho mini-z bike, and the silverlit.
Ever since i am a daily lurker and a complete rc bike nut.

Just recently i bought a Kyosho hor nsr 2nd hand and have been rebuilding it
as the previous owner did not spend much time detailing the bike.
I realy want to race it next season on my outdoor track and have a few questions
regarding my setup.
I fell in love with the bike ever since i saw the guys run it in Hong Kong
Now i have build the bike with gpv tyres v1 al around and the gpv inserts.
The front tyre insert does not realy fit the rim well.
How do you guys make it fit? Do you trim the middle section of the rim, or do you mod the insert itself?
The front mudguard does not fit with this setup but i have replaced it with a gpv mudguard, witch is a direct fit!
A touringcar demper has replaced the rear stock one, etc....
What else should be done to make it a better racer?

Maybe adding weight on the rims,
B.t.w. It is still a shelfqueen....... i have never raced it

I never tried the GPV-1 tires/inserts on Kyoshos, even though I have both bikes... However, I have mounted ZH-racing treaded soft tires on the Kyosho rims, using the supplied ZH-R inserts, and at least with the LeMans motor, the bike is not able to spin a tire or for that matter make the tires sweat!

The Racers in Hong kong use a o-ring in the front 'groove' of the insert to give
the tire a more v-shape for more lean angle. i'm having difficulty sourcing the 0-ring.
I think the rear v1 and soft insert are very (to) soft as well.
I'll post some pics soon....
Does anyone know if the venom fork is a direct fit for the Hor?

Here is a pic of the Hor.
I'm afraid that next year it will not look the same anymore
