Congratulations Glenn. I followed this build over on RCSB (in fact I went through it all again this morning killing time at work), and I'm just enamored by your skilled craftsmanship and detail work. Thank you for sharing your abilities and knowledge with us hacks.

We'll give you a pass Glenn, too busy flying to post!

I have plans and plastic for the Rich Uravitch 195 and I'm planning on ordering a short kit at some time and build that sucker. I'm planning the same color scheme except green for the red.

Glenn, that is a beautiful aircraft. Glad the maiden went well.

I spent the last two days working on my 195 again; with a little help from the grandson.

I spent part of today working on the door step. I think I have a plan but will need to get a few more things squared away.

Hope to have all the major assemblies done this week and begin starting on the details. Took some photos but need to get them off the phone.

I suppose I will type a few reports before it gets too late.

Thank you for all the kudos gentlemen throughout the thread. A little more about the flight. Well 2 flights... I will get a video this next season for sure. Anyway, before the maiden I was Leary about if I had enough engine, but the OS-300R is 50cc., Plenty of power, the 195 weighed in @ 28 lbs., has lots of wing area & cord. The take offs are nice and scale. Do need to use coordinated rudder, and is a little heavy on the sticks. It cruises nicely w/ half power. Has a medium sink rate on final, did not use any flap and wheel lands very nice.

Sounds like a perfect flight with a great engine choice.

I took advantage of the holiday season to get some work done on the 195. So far, I have completed building the door step mechanism and nearly completing the major assemblies. (Had to use the youngest daughter as a scale for family to gauge the size of the aircraft.)

I will attach a link of the door step working shortly. I am very happy how it turned out and it should add a little character to the finished aircraft.

This week i will finish the empennage and work on the cabin interior.

The working step will be a nice addition to the finished model. It's an idea that I hadn't considered.

Well done !

Thanks; I didn't think of it either however it was the last thing my grandfather and I discussed before he passed away.

Here is a video of the step operation. I have the step just roughed in to show it in operation.

Last years' Breakfast Fly-in had two of these Sweethearts show up...This one squeaked all three tires at the same time.
You could hear the air sigh out from under the wings................
