Question
Sloping in the UK?

Hello out there UK slopers. I am a traveling slopeflyer here in the US. Last summer I traveled to Norway hoping to do some soaring, that didn't work out so well. But looking on the net, there is a lot more info on sloping in the UK and it looks like lots of options. Slopehunter.co.uk is aes great site. I lived in Sheffield many years ago and haven't been back since so I'm thinking its time. Looks like most sites are in the South, which I am not as familiar with. Is the summertime a good time or is there a seasonality to it? What site are you all using for wind/ weather predictions? If I am out midweek would I run into fellow flyers at the popular places? Anyone know of sites in the Peaks or around the Sheff? Again, lots of info I could plan my own trip, anyone who'd care to weigh in here would be welcome. I may try in August. If not, it may be next summer. Thanks!

There are plenty of places on the south cost as south west is the prevailing direction.

If you're going to be in Sheffield / the Peak District, there are many decent slopes. If you have insurance that is recognised as equivalent to the BMFA's (is AMA insurance like this?) there's a slope for just about any wind direction.

PM me if you require more info.

I will be bringing along 60in and 2m fiberglass slopers, transported in a gun case. I also have a big Espada, but it would be too hard to get to Britain.
