Hobby Shack No Big Thing

Does anyone with a long memory remember what the dimensions are for this one? I have never seen a kit or plans but figure I could scale down my Real Thing plans

Thanks

Never heard of a "No Big Thing" by Hobby Shack.
I've heard of "The Real Thing" plans for it can be found by doing a search at http://www.outerzone.co.uk/

Thanks
I have the real thing plans
I am just trying to figure out what the wingspan was on the little one so that I can scale it appropriately

Someone suggested it was 36 inches but that sounds a bit big to mean since I think it called for .02 engine

If it is the 36" span version, I have one in the garage attic. I'll see if I can find it and bring it in so I can measure it. I have no idea where the plans are, but reducing the Real Thing plans will do.

Cool pilot- i liked his movies

Thanks balsabird, I am just trying to get a guess on the size and it may be 36. I am just not sure since that one came along after my first go round with RC

The regular sized Real Thing was not the best kit in the world but for $12.99 it was the right price for silly dreams and for flying out of the field in western KY where you needed to be flying something the size of a Sr telemaster to be able to ROG. Everything else including the RT was hand launch-sometimes with a thud accompanying the launch. They bounced pretty well. broke a lot of props though

That's so cool.

I love in the ad "Low price 2 and 3 channel proportional systems now on the market"

Now you can get 6+ channel systems cheaper than those 2-3 channel systems were!

I had one of those low price 3 channel proportional systems with my original Real Thing. I still have one of the "mini" servos that went with it. It weighs about what my 2100 battery pack does now.

So I am thinging (that is thinking in real thing terms) about scaling it to 24-30 wing and flying it off the front yard

You are right about the kit not being the greatest. The balsa quality left little to be desired. But for the price it was a fun little flyer and it was simple to build. I built mine and powered it with an old O.S. .15 and it flew like a big trainer but it was small enough to haul around in the back seat of a small car.

Is that the ARF version of the Real Thing? I have one new in box and the firewall looks exactly the same.
Also, If I'm not mistaking, Hobby Shack never made a kit called the "No Big Thing"

Hobby Shack did the real thing then at some point they came out with the no big thing and then going the other direction they did the real big thing. This must have been sometime after 1982 when I stopped flying. Maybe it was hobby people who came out with the other sizes

Someone had plans for sale here on rcg but they posted and then disappeared
