If somebody other than you built the plane, then there is no telling what they used. That said....if it was built as a nitro powered plane, and is silk or tissue covered, then there is the possibility it is Aerogloss silver dope, which unfortunately is discontinued. Now, you might be able to get some from Randolph, or on the "Stitts" site I do see "California aluminum" which may or may not match your silver....

Put an add in the classifieds and perhaps you can find some....

Or... Brodak butyrate dope (scroll down a bit) Aerogloss was also butyrate dope, but no guaranty as to the color match...

If you're building a model to replicate a 'New" spirit, you should try the classifieds...there is Aerogloss in many an oldtimer's workshop.

But at our last visit to the NYP, we counted 13 different shades of silver on that aircraft. Patches, repairs, holes filled, and just general touch-up and maintenance has rendered her a 'coat of many colors'.

If you're going for original, weathering is in the cards....If you want 'new', any replica can be modeled, and modern paints are available that match perfectly.
Poly Fiber has two silvers,,220m Nevada Silver, and 222m Rancho Silver.
