3DHS 44" Slick 580

[/B]I figured I would start a discussion thread on the new 44'' slick. I know 3dhs/EF will start their own thread soon, however I thought I would open this as a place all of us could discuss it until then.

Will it be the same price as the 42'' AJ slick? and will they be available before the end of summer? I am thinking I need to sell my 51'' slick and get one of these. Want something smaller to take with me back to college this fall.

if you can swing it, maybe keep the 51 and save up for the 44"? I think you'll notice a big difference. 51 is really a bird you take the club field. The 44" is a balsa park flier.
Different purposes between the two.

Bring on more Slicks!! Still waiting on a micro slick. Lol.

I think this is great!! I'm just not a fan of the busy looking paint scheme. It's too much. When I squint at the picture, simulating flying, it gets all washed out. Not enough bold contrast. Simple geometric designs show up so well in the sky. It just kinda reminds me of a painted foamie rather than a balsa plane.

I have two 60'' birds, so the 51 does not get flown anymore.

Of course this will be a great-flying plane. That's a slam dunk.

However, your opinions, please: What do you think of the color scheme and graphics?

It's a little wild for me, but I could live with it. Someone earlier said it looked like a unicorn puked, I thought that was funny. I'd fly it!

I like the look of the fuselage graphics. But I'm not to fond of the wings. To me the bottom of the wings need to be drastically different then the top. Otherwise there will be definite orientation problems. Depronius we already know yours will have lots of day glow Orange aplied to it if you get one.

I ,love the color scheme. However repairing it will be impossible. However it not peeling up is a plus.

I think the most likely spot to get damaged and needing repair would be the landing gear block area. That area is all one color. So as long as the color is available it shouldn't be a problem. Who knows they might make covering panels available as spare parts. That would be a huge plus.

Eeeh. I guess the printed covering technology is cool, but the new Slick scheme is just too busy. I like the old scheme better. However, I do like the 106" Edge. Really awesome.

Are they only coming out with a 44" ? No 51"?

I just crashed my 51" Slick and need another. I was hoping to use the same gear in the new model

The only way I can really explain the covering scheme would be this. The 106" Edge is called "The atomic weight of awesomeness"

The 44" Slick should be, Rainbow and Unicorn have one night stand in neverland.
