just looking for abit of info on this osd.

im looking for one with good speed and altitude reading.
not to see how fast or high i can go, but to keep constant altitude and speed for flying and recording video?
will this be alright?

also, does it have any model attitude reading? (not sure if this is the proper name)

This is a good OSD for the price, but it's not on par with some of the more expensive OSDs out there. I've got the V2 version. The speed seems reasonably accurate, but the altitude does not. You can see in my latest video that I start out with the altitude at zero, when I land at the same location, it's reading +300m(altitude is on the right ladder). Maybe the newer versions have fixed this, but I haven't heard any reports of it yet.

I got my suppo easy osd v2.3 in the other day. I have not hooked it up yet, but it is the newest version so hopefully it will be pretty good for the price. I have not heard a lot of bad reviews about them. Of course they dont compare to spending $200+ on an osd, but for something simple and cheap. it does the job I would assume.

exactly. Just enough info to fly around and navigate easily, find the way home, watch your battery, time your flight and air speed. The Altitude accuracy is variable. I still use it in a glider, but use a separate variometer with it also.

cheap enough to be expendable for doing long range attempt in a cheap plane, maybe

Ya. BC has helped me tremendously and has only made my life easier with fpv and rc planes. Props to him, he knows what he is talking about.

Has anybody used a toroid on the GPS cable to help GPS accuracy?

I suppose the gps is not waas enabled?

probably not, but does it matter all that much? Are the top shelf OSD GPS WAAS? I imagine if it was WAAS, we wouldn't get frequent inaccuracies in altitude often over 50 ft out of whack, and the top shelf OSD might not need a Baro at all (they also get significant inaccurate readings too without baro). But I am not an expert at all.

did you select NTSC or PAL from the menu? must choose the one that suits your video system or the OSD will run off the screen
