I would not use the GoPro for piloting, get a seperate camera for that, only use the GoPro for HD recording.

Think about what happens when your GoPro battery runs low, your card is full, or your GoPro just decides to freeze up or shut down, you can kiss your plane goodbye in all those cases.

I'm sorry, in that case you're in the same boat as all the two-battery people that know 100% sure they charged their video battery, yet all of a sudden the video just shows static

Don't use the GoPro for piloting, use a seperate small CCD or CMOS camera, in that case you'll never be faced with a GoPro having a bad hair day or running on battery fumes, or just deciding it is time for a nap.

Up to you really, I'm merely pointing out something which I've seen happen before and which resulted in people losing a plane. If you don't think that'll happen to you, well, good luck, just don't say I didn't warn you if it does happen.

I nearly lost a plane due to go pro failure, I never flew with it as my FPV cam ever again.

Besides not only is the go pro susceptible to failure which other cameras aren't, it doesn't have a great live out picture.

for now, it works very well for me, but thank you for telling me ....
