So the tube of marine grease that came with my boat when I bought it is almost gone and this is what I'm wondering: does marine grease have some special properties that make it specific to boating applications, or can I use regular grease as a substitute? I have a tube of lithium grease that I thought might make a good alternative because it tends to 'stick' to the parts it gets applied to, but I am not sure if it will end up producing more resistance than regular grease. Any thoughts on this?
