Will PM you about a coupler, but as alternatives to buying another stock unit and hoping it's better, you could try using the Graupner one with it's 3mm shaft (see my post 449) or buy the hop-up kit from SicRC which includes a 2.3 flex-drive shaft, a bushing for the housing and a coupler to fit whatever motor you tell him it's for.

Well, Mad, the idea behind the kmb is the durability of the glass hull for lake playing, and true, no jet will run with a prop, the idea of a more stable, because of the length, jet boat, faster than the nqd, which in lake runnin factors in, still allows a set course that a prop boat cannot deal with, as we intend to build 2 small, and one larger ramp for jumping into the course..

We will have the same $$ in gear as in the nqd, but, a bigger, nicer boat..
So, its just the boat cost thats up..none of us are using the nqd jet, we all went to graupner out of the box...

Hull alone is about $130..

Can understand your reasoning. I had thought you were planning on getting the full $353 worth of stuff including their jet. To do justice to that set-up you would have needed a bigger motor like a full-on Leopard, big 5s or 6s Lipos and a suitable 150 amp or more ESC. All starts getting pricey.

Then again, as the old saying goes 'Speed costs money. How fast can you afford to go'.

Outta the paint..but, no running gear yet, so, sits on the bench.

All these will be equipped the same, 3900kv, 3S 4400's, 60amp esc..all turnigy.

Looks great! Makes me want to strip mine down and re-paint it. It has a couple summers worth of battle scars on it now.

As I have no gear yet, just trying to get the other stuff outta the way..paints gotta sit for a few days before I wet sand and buff it, I do a lotta overkill, but, if its worth doing, etc.

Put the brass fitting in the bowl of the jet, and thats about all I can do at this point, the others I am building will be indentical except for I have the graupner jet, these will remain the NQD..

I've still yet to complete my first build, but while mock fitting my motor the screw holes seem quite reluctant to allow me to thread in straight. There's no room at all for the screw heads against the jet unit so it pushes both screws facing in.

Is there something you guys are doing to fix this?

No, tried with the stock screws and some cap head screws I had. I'll take a pic this evening to explain it a bit better.

If you actually meant the motor, as you said, rather than the jet unit then be aware you will damage the motor using such long screws to mount it to the drive. Hence the warning in the blurb on Giantcod's site. Use the screws that came with the motor or, if you want to be able to change the motor later once the jet is sealed back in the hull, it will be easier to undo them from above if you use M2.5 x 5mm allen screws from someone like

But I'm probably being paranoid. I expect you meant the jetdrive to the hull rather than the motor to the drive, but better safe than sorry
