hey guys-

looking to get back into helis after a long time and i have a few questions. im very expereinced in electric 3d aircraft, but havnt been into helis since flybarless became big. here are my goals:

-use my spyder 6s5000 packs (either as 6s5000 or 12s5000)
-flybarless setup (and im not experienced enough to tinker, something that is proven would be great)

on the lines of a flybarless, what are your guys views on the skookum 720? i like the auto stabilization feature for learning 3d on helis, will definitely help with the nerve factor. what about curtis youngbloods fbl system? gyrobot?

what heli should i be looking at? any good advice on setup (servos, motor, esc, etc)?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Battery: (1) if use as single pack, then Align 550; (2) of use as 12S, then a 90 size electric such as Align 700, Compas 7HV, Goblin, Avant 90E, etc.

FBL system: BeastX ... very easy to use. Skookum, Total G, Futaba 750 ... required a bit more tinkering. Vbar ... easy to set up via computer. All other systems, such as Tarot ZYX(?), we seasoned flyers don't bother with especially when the heli itself costs $2K and up.

Servos: Torque, Futaba BLS series, JR high voltage, etc. for cyclic. Futaba BLS 251 for tail.

ESC - can't go cheap so Kontronik 120HV or YGC120 or the new series of Scorpion HV escs.

Motor: Scorpion, Kontrokik

I have a skookum 720 and found it very easy to setup with a laptop although it does take an hour or two initially. You can find them new or used in the classifieds for a good price. As for a heli I would say a align 550 to 700 super combo depending upon how much you wanna spend. Unless your a top notch 3d pilot or competing in contests you won't really benefit from hv servos or aftermarket motors. Everything in the align super combo kit is more then enough for a regular 3d pilot. Just my 2 cents.

what about the helicommand hc3sx? ive heard good things about it, and the self righting thing is pretty cool
