Building the wings.

The main spars were so bad and out of shape. I could have honestly taken a banana from our kitchen and would have been better off. It took som time to wet and reform the spars to be nice and straight.

The two wing halves put together.

The start of the fuselage construction.

I did ad lots of stock around the gear areas. They are not going to come out or twist at all now.

Removable tank mounts so if i ever need to get back in the nose area for some reason.

Custom Servo mounts for separate aileron control

Servo covers on the bottom of the wing.

Wing is almost finished. Just a final blend sand at the tips is required and the fill in of the other landing gear pocket.

Once both gear pockets are filled and sanded smooth i will just re-cut out what is required for the wire gear rods.

Your build is looking good. That was the first kit that i built. I had a super tiger 75 on mine, great flyer. Lost it to a mid-air. Have another kit just havent gotten around to building.

I thought I would revive this thread since I just acquired one of these kits. I noticed the plans show optional retracts. I always thought it would be cool to replicate (as is reasonably possible) Art Scholl's one of a kind Chipmunk. Has anybody done the retract mod and what retracts did you use? Pics would be helpful. Knowing that the landing gear (fixed) is a document weak area, I wonder if retracts is a good idea. Any input would be appreciated.
