Wow, would be an expensive crash, so be careful with that Enigma.

Ha, and I worry about a cheap GWS Corsair going down. Of course, now they're virtually unavailable, so maybe they're sort of priceless, and worry is justified.

That's why I got out of flying gas helicopters about 20 years ago. It cost about $150.00 at that time just to replace the main blades, and it occurred far too often if you just accidentally tipped it too far this way or that.

Also working on a 80" span Demon for mild sport soaring. The Demon will not be a speed burner but rather elegance with a tad of power. Here is the impeller cooled motor going into the Demon, just arrived today. The motor will make around 600 watts sustained and close to 900 burst. The motor going into the Enigma will produce 2500 plus burst watts of hold on to your butt we going for a ride.

With every death there must be a rebirth

You know quiz, the way I see it My problem with me crashing anymore is that I get bored and do stupid things to amuse myself. I will have to remind myself to behave Not mine but built the same as mine will be when finished. It may be hard to behave. I will have this plane by 700 watts.

Well, no matter how hard we try, we know they'll eventually go down, sometimes due to a fault of our own with respect to our pushing the envelope, or due to just a technical failure that we simply can't help.

Looks like it has the potential to be pretty 'ed fast!!! Soooo, stay on your toes as you get some thrills!

Not a warbird Quiz but I threw a Formosa together the past few weeks. It has a 480 plus motor spinning a 11x5.5 prop on 3s 2200mah 50c battery. The plane is much brighter than the picture shows. It is fluorescent yellow and green fern camo.

Not familiar with the '480-plus' but, I am sure you can make it go faster by Propping it down to 10 inch diameter and a slightly higher pitch say, 7.

Actually the video was made with a 9x9. I tried a 11x5.5 and felt there was a lack of torque. With a 480 plus motor about all I could do for more speed is drop to a 8x8 and go 4s. The plane is fun but no speed demon as it would be a real handful at any real speed. The plane has big control surfaces and the throws would need to be set so low for speed that I would have to take off and land at different settings.

The 480 plus motor is a heavy duty work horse of the 480 world. Simple motor with gobs of torque and power. They are very tolerant of being over amped and the bearings never say die sitting on there 5mm shaft. Great cheap motor with way more power than any other 480 in its weight class for half the dollars.

Love your paint jobs! Always creative...I get the idea that you've got that paint job aspect of building down to almost an assembly line efficiency. You always make it look so easy...being so prolific at turning them out quickly, and each with creative, interesting, and attractive paint jobs to boot. Don't know how you do it
