Build Log
Flying Wing1 KFm2 Bluecore Wing

This plane worked out much better than I expected. It is easy to fly and reasonably fast. Very simple to build. The main idea was to make a pusher prop that would resemble the B2 Stealth Bomber but without all of the angle cuts in the back. It was to have simple elevon controls with only 2 servos. It is actually a proof of concept for my next project......B2 with drag rudders and a more scale back end. That one will have 8 servos.

Both of the planes will have landing gear since I fly from asphalt but if you have grass you can certainly hand launch them.

For this one I used the Kfm2 airfoil.
Motor is 2212/06 2200kv motor.
6x4 prop
2- corona 926 bb servos
2200 or 2600mah 3S Lipo

.4mm carbon fiber spars
4- 1 5/8 inch wheels

You ended up,with a plane much like an early Northrop wing - the N9M. It would not take much to make it easily identifiable as an N9M.

Thanks JP and GPW. The original had a nice "tail piece" that made it look a lot like a Horten but I ended up changing the design in order to move the motor forward.

I like the idea of Northrop or Horten form and may make another one with that in mind.

The first 4 attempts at flight ended in a wing over and nose in crash. My CG was too far back and I did not have the winglets on at that time. After I cut the back end off and put the motor on the spar she flew but still not very controllable, she was a handful. Then I added the winglets and what a dream. This is a very easy to fly bird.

I would still like to move the motor forward by an inch or two but that will take a new airframe and at that time I may reinvent the back end. Hmmmm, that gives me an idea. Two motors and the form of an N9M.....Maybe..

Cheers, JR

Wing1 video

RC Flying Wing KFm2 Scaled up from a 10" plastic model B2 (3 min 6 sec)

I have a short video with a few take-offs and even a landing.....LOL
Very simple design with the KFm2 airfoil. Strong yet light.
Flies great.

Love that smooth landing at the end with the mountains in the background.

I just did this to test the new Hat Cam. No optical zoom so any zooming will be done in Vegas.
