Looks like a McCoy "Duroglo" .049

If you can find fuel for it you might as well use it as it is neither rare or very valuable!

What do you consider not very valuable? $30.00?

$ 30 would be a fair price these days if you find a buyer, post it in the FS/W forum or check ebay to get an idea:

An example here:

Maybe this guy would buy it:

Some more details about it:

Yes I would agree it looks like a McCoy Duroglow engine. $30 seems about right for them too.
I would have thought that it would have some markings on it though. I did research it a little and McCoy did make some without markings so it is probably legit. But it may be a replica or a engine put together using parts later, after McCoy went out of business. Several people had bought up the parts and were assembling engines for quite a few years after McCoy went away.

I have a box full of motors selling for a friend. 1941 to mid 80's. Some NIB. So I will have lots of questions in the next few weeks. These are all being offered locally first and then I will consider domestic and then cross boarder sales.

PAL made a replica of the McCoy .049 diesel, and the pictures I've seen look a lot like that. To my knowledge there was no markings on the case.

I have both a original and a replica version too.

But the originals tended to have markings on them. There appear to be some that are made without markings though. The PAL replicas use a different aluminum alloy that has a distinctive gray color to it. I think they sort of sand blasted the crankcases with walnut shells or something.

I think that the engines being assembled from parts by the current OK Model Company don't have any markings on the engines.

For example the .074 (or is it a .075) OK diesel engine had no markings on it.
