Tyler Perry's gigantic A380

Who knew?

Tyler Perry wiki

He was on the Jimmy Fallon show a couple of nights ago:

http://www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show/...s-a380/2965799

"I got it bad, man. It started off like a nice little hobby."

Welcome to the club, Tyler.

I haven't found any information on the plane yet. I'll keep looking.

What do you suppose the wingspan is on that monster?

That is awesome! But you would think all that effort and a plane of this size would have some scale landing gear?

Awesome model, but dang, with an investment like that he should have made it actually look like an A380.

The wingspan has to be well over twenty feet, right?

We can safely assume that those are turbine engines and not EDFs.

Yeah its a bit pointy to say the least. In fact the more I look at it. Its very far from scale if that was the goal at all? Otherwise its great!

I think actual A380 is a hidious looking whale but this model just took the cake!!!

What's the point of building such huge model while making so many errors on it!, why , I mean just why!!!

He should have bought one of Peter Michel's giant A380 models instead of building that thing....

Whoever built that behemoth was obviously a master builder. The result was exactly what he wanted it to be.

Which does make you wonder, doesn't it? Why didn't he make the nose and windshield to scale? Certainly he could have, but he chose not to, for some reason.

The landing gear is another story. He probably just used what was available rather than go to the great trouble of making scale LG for this one-of-a-kind plane.

We should probably keep in mind that this huge model actually got built. The project was completed. The aircraft flies, and apparently flies well enough for the very wealthy guy who bought it to talk about flying it like I talk about flying my little foamies.

We can carp all we want about what's "wrong" with it, but it's probable that the builder was more concerned about how it would fly than how it would look.

It is not A380 model. It is some plane
Why spend time, effort and money on it? I can not understand. A lot of pictures of the A380 in the web, it was possible to make at least the same.

It's very easy to understand: The intent of the builder was to make an enormous flying model of a four-engine jet airliner that looks to anyone but scale model fanatics like an Airbus A380.

Mission accomplished.

Not only to scale model fanatics. To nearly everybody that plane doesn't look like an A380.
Are there in the US no modelbuilders to build a more scale-like looking A380 for Mr. Perry? Not necessary a masterpiece like Peter Michel's A380 but something that looks a little bit better.
