Mike_o do I correctly remember that you tried it? If you haven't then order one tonight ...

The best GBP I spent on a RC "Gudget".Thinking about installing it in all of my scale and precious models.

Cheers
I have thought about it, but been worried about my servos working overtime. Will give it a second thought!

You can take a look at my channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZx...3H-fZ-pSClaY4Q ).
At the moment I'm sharing only GOPRO Twinstar Videos.
Twinstar is the first airplane I use for BVR flights and yesterday I reached 714 mts (my personal record).
My configuration:

- Twinstar 2 Brushless engines Permax BL 2830 - 1100 with props 8 x 5
- Eagletree OSD Pro with Elogger and GPS on Readymaderc 540 camera
- Video Tx 1.3 with standard antenna
- RC Aurora 9 with Optima9 receiver @ 2.4 Ghz
- Ground DVR from Foxtech, with Video Rx 8dbi Patch antenna - perfect quality.

I'm wondering how much I can push more with my standard HITEC aurora 2.4 Ghz RC System...

I have thought about it (Eagle Tree Guardian - an virtual autopilot), but been worried about my servos working overtime. Will give it a second thought!
Sorry Mike_o just seen your post hence the delay. Suggest have a go with a Guardian (Eagle Tree product) - this is the future in rc flying ... Trust me.

Most average quality servos can work constantly and can work for many hours so long they're not over streched (put under heavy load). Guardian only makes small inputs for correction provided your mode is correctly trimmed. If it's a badly trimmed model, then you're giving it constant corrective inputs anyway- so not different from what a Guardian would do. So correct or near correct trim is essential.

It's surprising that how often we fly a bidly trimmed model and subconsciously accept it as norm.

Cheers

My FPV Twinstar2 has had a CoPilot (CPD4) since the start and I've not noticed any issues with servos. This probably has over 50 hours flying time on it

+1 here too.

You're very lucky - you can fly so close to a city !!! I don't think many cities wud allow this.

Mike_o if it's any consolation then we share similar weather for today and same for all of next week.

I don't know what to cheer about but

Cheers

CurrentDude,

you can cheer about your prediction on my growing hangar: This week added a brand new EasyGlider and a Diamond 2500, which I bought for $25 incl motor and folding prop off a guy, who crashed it.

After closer inspection, I can understand his problems. ESC fried due to overload. Several servos broken due to excessive resistance in the control surfaces. I further removed 177gr of balancing iron lumps, which will become superfluous in the "light weight" restoration, I'll be doing. I have ordered new servos and am considering a major re-design. Perhaps even a twin-motor modification with a plexi glas dome nose for FPV + GoPro 3.

.
Does he still speak to you ???

This is equivalent to back door high street robbery in my book

But then you're in luv with RC Flying and nothing is unfair in love ....

Yep and good model in wrong hands and badly adjusted control surfaces, CG and so on can be worst than flying a brick.

Will tune in for your next episode of this drama....and you've a lot to make your winter cheerful now....

Cheers
