You will be happy with either one. The V1 has telemetry with higher grade and capable DEVO Tx's, and an accelerometer for assistance in staying level for long periods. I find I do not use telemetry since it uses power and will reduce 1-2 minutes of flight time. The V2 will stay level for a shorter period before you have to correct it.

Jim, what's the relative times the V1 and V2 will generally stay level?

I've busted my V1 mainboard, and and toying with replacing it with a V2.

M,
The gyro only drift is a non-issue if you are used to flying around and flipping. The Ladybird V1 with accelerometer will snap back to level noticeably quicker when you put in a small angle and release the stick. The V1 will always eventually return to level, which is a typical multicopter response for a multicopter using an accelerometer.. The V2 when kept in a hover will require more corrections and if not corrected would eventually angle for the ground.

How bad is your V1 and how did it get broken?

Cheers,
Jim

Thanks Jim...

Dropped it upside down on the one piece of concrete... it didn't seem too bad... cracked the mainframe, but easy enough to fix that.

The main problem is that I couldn't get it to bind again. If anybody has an idea on fixing that I would be most appreciative!

Walkera Ladybird V1 not binding to Walkera Devo 7 (1 min 9 sec)

M,
Is your FMOD switch in the 0 position?
Try to use the bind plug to reset the bind.
Hmmmm...In your video on your DEVO 7 after it times out I see the display with L2220 at the bottom. I am not sure what that means, but my DEVO 10 display looks nothing like that. Is that original DEVO firmware or Deviation?
Cheers,
Jim

It looks like if the rx is bound with a fixed id, but the tx is in auto bind mode.
Try clearing the fixed id from the rx with the bind plug...

My parts order from Terrance arrived today. Few days earlier than expected, so a pleasant surprise. (Thanks again for the suggestion)

Among various other sundries was a green smiling ladybird canopy I couldn't pass up

For me its worth the shorter flight time. With good battery the flying time is almost 6 minutes and battery change only takes seconds.
I've timed stock LB w/ stock battery at almost 8 minutes more than once. I use the LED modded canopy I made and still get almost 6 minutes 30 seconds.

I religiously use an audible timer I have to time each flight. I've read too many times posts from pilots with far more experience than I to be very kind to your lipo's and they will treat you well for a long time. I time all my LB flights to 6 minutes and always have power left when timer goes off. I also label all my batteries and keep a written log of each ones use so they all get equal duty cycles. My wife thinks I'm nuts for being so OCD about it, I just like keeping track and can easily determine the lifetime in hours of any one battery.

BD, when hovering or cruising my flying time is approximately 8 minutes with telemetry "on".

When flying "hard" with a lot of altitude changes the flight times is just 6 minutes.

I also like to take good care of my LiPos, and try to keep track on how many flights they done.

I think you should try the UDI LiPo (labeled 240mAh 30C) the are at least as good as the stock LiPo, and have a nicer price.

Just took my bird out during my lunch break. Really love flying this one. I like how the roll mode allows for steeper banked turns, but it seems like every once in a while it catches the wind at a positive AOA and just flips over on it's back.
The non-roll mode I can get it cookin in big wide circles around the field. It's different, I like it.
I need more practice

Anyone tried or can comment on this Turnigy 260mAh?

Does anyone know if they are heavier than stock?

YUD, The Hobby King 260mAh is not bad but the UDI LiPo (labeled 240mAh 30C) is better.

They are comparable with stock, but aging is faster.

Weight is between 7,73-7,93 gram. Stock is 7,7-8,0 gram

The fit in the battery holder is not good (they are smaller) one have to use electrical tape to secure.

Is this the UDI?
