Feasibility of scale looking 1/32 rc cars

For those who love racing scale looking cars itīs a shame that up to date it is almost impossible to do it at a reasonable price. to begin with , Kyosho mini-z cars, which seemed so promising some years ago has kind of disappointed to a lot of enthusiast people keeping stuck on old fashioned batteries and high prices. Size and scale (1/28) has not been a minor issue, making it difficult to build 1/24 scale plastic cars from kits. Finally these cars are too big to race at home and too small to bear regular asphalt surfaces.

I can figure that there's some people like me out there who have dreamed for years with scale looking 1/32 rc cars with decent proportional performance and at reasonable price ($50?). Surely there must be others wondering themselves what should these cars be worth for. Maybe to convert any slot car into rc could be a good reason to get into them.

2,4 GHz could be offered both in economic and hobby grade compatible transmitters, while 1s lipo cells and inexpensive micromotors aren't a barrier for low prices any longer. Wheels should be also compatible with slot ones, and differentials are not mandatory at this scale.

Conclusion, there is no apparent reason why we don't still have such type of cars, apart from the weird idea that small cars are only for children.

I am not going to produce or sell this type of cars, though I have done several conversions, so I better would be a potential buyer of the product. From this thread I invite you to make suggestions about this topic, involving:

- Models you would like to be released
- Likes and dislikes about the scale
- Reasons why they should be a success or a failure
- Chassis design ideas
- Other

Let's challenge the industry with ideas and suggestions about what we would like to play with, instead of just waiting for a new ugly faced thinghie, buggy, truggy or whatever it is. Luckily they actually offer performance and price, but c'mon, image also matters and sooner or later someone is going to sell a good base to convert 1/32 scale cars.

Release a feasibly economical roller and the buyer uses his Tx/Rx and esc of choice. I have several sitting in a box waiting for the next project. Batteries don't need to be included either. Just a roller with a motor and have a semi adjustable wheelbase to accommodate various bodies. Simple and cost effective.

I would like to review which the attempts have been, and why they have failed. Going from commercial to home made, the most remarkable example is no doubt HPI Racing 32 series, that made most of us (micro rc car enthusiasts) drop our jaws, saying finally! But for any reason these cars were not that broadly available and their presence in this forum were nothing but testimonial.

In my opinion these cars lacked power and speed, used old fashioned NiMh batteries, and their price wasn't a temptation too. I would lie to you if I say that I hadn't liked to try them, but they haven't been that available.

Id like to see some classic muscle, classic VWs, and maybe some famous classic race cars of all types. That General Lee is a good example.

To continue, some after-market sellers, especially from Germany, have released some sophisticated, and very expensive, chassis to convert slot cars to rc. From CRT Remote to WWS or Carbon One, several layouts have been more or less available to build 1/32 rc cars, always based on bulky 130 motors and NiMh bats.

In the top of the range the most elaborated mechanics are in the Seigert chassis. Four wheel drive, drifting capabilities and high prices too.

Seeing these chassis has my brain working. They look like mostly lightweight plates with some computer standoff spacers sandwiched between them. Then all the bits tucked inside.

I'll marinade on it a few days and see what I can dream up. I won't be able to do anything but get it on paper for a few weeks due to work.
