1) May be your GPS unit cracked and it is failing randomly. Openn shell and check it.
2) Are you waiting until it shows 20 green flash before take off?
3) Do you have the latest firmware and made aAdvanced Calibration using DJI software?
4) Is the compass cable firmly connected?
I will make sure of all of thouse stuff next time.
It was strange, kinda random.

I will check my GPS for any crack, but GPS fly, is OK.
Yes I waited for all the green flashes at the start.
I do have latest naza software. I did not do the calibration before I started flying, now Im recalling.
Compass cable seems firm.

Any better aftermarket batteries than the DJI batteries that can be recomended , the one I bought a few months ago from DJI , voltage just drop so fast , compared to the one that came with my P2 , It nearly cost me loosing the P2 and only got 15mins , It did not even return home like normal, just landed missing a river .

You can use many 2700 mAh and 2800 mAh batteries a little heavier than stock but longer flight times.
I use MadDog 2700 mAh and Turnigy and ThunderPower 2700 mAh. 2 years old and still working great

Hey guys, does anyone have any experience with the cheap chinese gimbals? I bought one but i don't seem to be able to get it to actually work, it's connected fine but when i hook up to the laptop the software keeps saying the the calibration needs to be done but i have done it loads of times, following the almost non existent instructions and by watching plenty of videos on You Tube! Any help appreciated otherwise the gimbal shall discover that it can fly without being on a quad lol!!

Regards,

Andy.

Which one gimbal are you talking about?
What happens when you connect power to the gimbal? Try it without connecting to phantom. It must work. It stays leveled? You have to keep it no movements some seconds until it initialize. . A video would help for guide around...

Maybe he forgots to click the box next to WRITE button to get WRITE+SAVE so settings are lost after power cycle. That ist he case on Storm32 gimbals.

Hi guys, I am just wondering if anyone can help me out!
I have a Phantom FC40 and I have just fitted a DYS 3D smart gimbal, I have fitted the small lever to the back of the transmitter to control the pitch and it's working fine but I am finding that the gimbal wants to turn on its own. Does anyone know of a mod I can do to the transmitter to control the gimbal turning action or will I need to clamp the gimbal in some way to stop it turning?
Thanks for reading,

Regards,

Andy.

I just realised the replies to my last question, thanks for that guys, I have put the cheap gimbal back into it's box and I bought myself a DYS one instead!

Andy.
