Down here on the gulf coast the wind has been blowing like a T.S. for almost a week and heavy rain. Glad this is not the norm. I haven't had to wear more than a sweatshirt this "winter". But when summer comes you need ice under your clothes. I have had a newly completed Big Stik ready for a week and can't fly! Dave/Z

I haven't seen anything under 10 mph winds since October.

Since we generally fly UM sized balsa on local school fields, between the wind and 4:30 darkness, my thumbs are turning to jelly.

Other than the winds, we have had flyable weather all winter. Just moved to the east coast and I'm liking it. I have to wait till the winds calm down to fly my Tritle birds, but it ain't 30 below C like I'm use to.

Down here in Ventura Ca from Vancouver BC, this is some sort of paradise, no wonder there's 20,000,000+ in So Cal.

Perfect flying weather the last 2 days (inside my work hangar)... outside however, not so much. Temps are amazing for this time of year, unfortunately 20 mph wind with 40mph gusts isn't conducive to foam flight.

Some great weather

It's not often where we have a winter in Maine without the snow piled up, below zero chill factors, and gusty winds. This has been an excellent winter to find a lake and fly as long as the cold can be stood. This past Wednesday, Feb 22, that meant burning through eight or nine batteries for 10 to 13 minutes each in the. Super Cub.

Living a mile from a ready made airfield has been a plus! I must say though, when crashing on clear blue ice, the destruction is pretty darned near total.

We fly in 20 mph winds fairly often as we get sick of waiting- we just pretend we are slope soaring with out the slope- ain't winter great....

Yup, flying season year 'round. I am taking a hiatus right now because I have had no break from flying for about 12 years or so. Having near perfect weather all the time isn't all it's cracked up to be.......well........yes, I guess it is

Hey! Nico, I'm planning on going to ElDo Sunday....you in?
