Build Log
Scratch build boeing 247

after years of saying this would be cool! I have started to scratch build one of these. I have sent for most of the plans and books that are out there and have decided that 100 inches span would be about right. I assume the reason someone hasnt done one of these before is the prop size problem, so I made it fit a size that was common, to make it bigger it had to be BIGGER!!!! 17 ft for 18 in props and little for electric each having there own size/ wt problems.

No plans will be available from me so dont ask and most wouldnt understand them anyway. I work from stations and dimensions along with section shapes from 3-views, Airfoils out of Compufoil. Then let the wood do what its supposed to do. Just the way my brain works.

I have been planning this for quite some time and had sketched some plans a few years back. then realized there was no engine prop combos to fit, Tossed those.

Any way here is the start

When will the plans be available ? Will you have short kits, plastic and glass parts, too ???

I think it must be 20 years ago, that you first told me that you wanted to build this airliner. I'm glad that you are finally getting the chance to realize your dream.

It's good to see that your Dad is helping, too.

LOL Tom My kits will be REALLY short kits

Dad is learning airplanes and pickie is being his usual mess of help.

I figured that if nobody kits this or has plans there must be something wrong so I may as well go find out what it is Stay tuned for many mistakes, oops I mean adjustments

Whew ! You had me scared for a minute. I thought that maybe you had changed your mind about what you would power the Boeing with.

Moving on! Engine nacelles next. Its time to start making sheeting and get some stiffness in these parts so I can start fitting everything together.
