I hope that question gets a pleasing and positive answer...
IIRC, I think algy2 mentioned that he was being more or less forced to stop posting, due to illness...
If anyone has good news, it would be great to hear (or read!) it...

Taibi Comet class A gas freeflight scan March 1948 A.T.

This is The Great Sal Taibi's Comet as published and scanned directly from my issue of Air Trails March 1948.

it is a parasol and looks like it would be a fine flyer with a really good airfoil. it is on my sometime to build list.

The last page is missing ( I think) I'll add it when I locate it in my " files ".

this has been sent to outerzone.....

Best Regards,

Jeff

Modelcraft Pacific Ace - 66in Gas Cabin

Anyone know this model? It's a new one to me, just wondered if anyone knows it, has any history on it. I'd like to know what year it's from for one thing. Also, the designer? That's missing too.

I like the looks of the Pacific Ace, might scale it down for a rudder only…

( that RO thread got me thinking , it's dangerous )

Modelcraft also kitted a rubber-powered Pacific Ace in 1937 with a 30 in. span. (link below) , which is well known in the free flight rubber community. My initial impression, on seeing the 66" span gas powered model, was that it was a scale-up of the rubber model, as was done for a plan published in the June 1988 RCM ( link below) because the profile of the fin and rudder are so similar. A look at the plan, however, shows a different fuselage profile, as well as a tapered wing as opposed to the rubber model's straight wing, Therefore, it looks to be a different aircraft entirely, even if inspired by the earlier smaller model. However, Modelcraft later released a "Pacific Ace Gullwing" in 1941 that is a gull-winged version of the larger gas-powered model and has the same wing planform and 66 in. span. You can also find that one posted below.

PHANTOM towliner MAN FEB 1947 article scan

All-

This is the PHANTOM towliner scanned directly from my issue of Model Airplane News Feb 1947.

It looks like it would be a good flyer FF or RC...

I still need to find the plan scan............. if anyone can come up with it I can't locate it at least for now....

this will be shared with outerzone.

Enjoy,

Jeff
