Newbie. Do water cooled motors act as a pump?
Do water cooled electric motors act as a pump to move water through them or is the water forced through the tubes by the boats movement?
We just got an aquacraft Revolt 30 and it seems it is not moving water through the motor. We are not sure whether we had a clog or the motor is not pumping the water properly. It over heated within the first two minutes of running.

Easiest way to check water flow is by pushing water through the system by either a syringe or a mouthful and blow it through or just blow through the outlet. It should be pretty easy to blow through.
Check all the lines to ensure they aren't creased, if no creases, there may be some debris caught in the system somewhere.

What do you mean by "overheated"? Did you measure the temperature of the motor or ESC? What prop were you using? Exactly what packs? Mostly full throttle or mostly part throttle?
It is pretty easy for water in the lines to drain out when the boat is lifted from the water. A rudder pickup will drain almost all the water if the bow is held up for a few seconds. If you can blow through the lines, there is probably plenty of water moving through them when the boat is moving.
