I've seen vids of moulded gliders with rear facing cams and they can suffer with the vert stab flexing too. Possibly the horizontal stab helps by giving more leverage to it, but it's still visible.

I coated my FJU's with varnish for wooden floors (water based) after the initial plastic primer and color coat.
Be sure to coat both sides in one go, because of shrinkage. Otherwise she will warp.
The airframe is notably stiffer and not to heavy after the varnish coat.

Mike, Are you using the 1900kv SK3?
How many Amps does it draw with a 6S and 6.5X6.5 ?

yes its the 1900kv

amps? don't know. haven't bother to measure. everything comes back warm but not too hot, and others are flying with the same setup so haven't worried about it.

So do you spread it on very thin? Any notice in extra speed or aerodynamic advantages? Is your landing speed increased?

I spray it on very lightly, it has no aerodynamic advantage, with the uncoated airframe you will get a 50Hz buzz at around 186mph, we discovered that it where the vertical fins vibrating.
And it is more responsive on the controls when the airframe is stiffer.
It adds the same weight as the original stickers, but they give no extra stiffness.
I don't sand the airframe because it will soak up paint and add to much weight.

Got 2 Turnigy 3659 Super EDF motors yesterday (1900kv advertised)
- measurements between phases and each motor differ
-#1 has resistances of 0.0116 / 0.0126 / 0.0134 (2 poles) (averaged to 0.0125)
-#2 has resistances of 0.0128 / 0.0138 / 0.0132 (2 poles) (averaged to 0.0133)

#1 weighs in at 8.875oz
#2 weighs in at 8.835oz

-motor is a 2.5 "D" winding
-motors are super easy to spin over .......... are there magnets in there ?
-4 pole inrunner
-36x60mm
- stated resistance of 0.011
- shafts are slotted
-3.5mm bullets already installed (although I am sure nobody has been flying on 6 cells without swapping for bigger bullets)

Rim,
Yours (#2) will be on its way in a few days, so have at it ................ and please fwd me the .csv files

Also gunna test some props later this week, maybe even try getting in a few flights (fat chance on that)

either i missed something or it hasnt been done , but i havent seen anything on the sk3 with a 5 cell battery "only 4cell and 6cell" .

Things just didnt seem right, so I took off the heatshrink and bullets, then re-measured the resistances ............... results speak volumes for HC soldering QC ........... I humbly suggest everyone who gets a Turnigy motor re-heat their bullets and make sure of good soldered joints

No bullets:
#1 motor ......... 8.755oz ..... 2085kv actual ..... 0.0122 milli-ohms resistance (2 poles)
#2 motor ......... 8.720oz ..... 2100kv actual ..... 0.0121 milli-ohms resistance (2 poles)

No load kv was done on ICE and Eagletree at the same time, if anyone wants the file.
