Converting Dell 7000814 Server Power Supplies
I just posted a build thread for a complete conversion of a Dell 7000814 power supply. It's at http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1750411 There's not much new here except sources for parts and a few tips, but it does pull together into one place a lot of information scattered all over several threads in this forum. These power supplies are cheap on eBay and elsewhere. If you need a power supply, take a look at this thread.

Sorry to put this here as I have only just joined and not sure how to start new thread etc. Also just a one off response in thanks for info gained from this site.
DS850-3 Server Pwr Supply Astec or Emerson 850W 12V 70A power supply with fans. http://www.emersonnetworkpower.com/e...1210814264.pdf To get it working stand alone: A1 connect to pin A6 (=3V3SB Return) B2 910 ohm ½ W to pin C6 (=3V3SB Return) B4 connect to pin B6 (=3V3SB Return) Resistor from B2 to C6 sets the output voltage. Higher R gives lower output voltage. Lower R gives higher voltage but may trip overvoltage. 910ohm gives 13.7V. Tested OK at >35A. Fred |

elf converted server power supplies in action. This one supplies both 24v and 12v at the same time. This way even though I am taking up a power outlet others can still have 12v if they need it.
