I guess my only remaining question would be, what is the preferred method for securely holding the wings on? I am leaning towards the velcro or rubber bands just for ease and being able to see the mechanical connection. I may also do magnets for added security.
A piece of tape...

I used small magnets and on the last (143rd) flight they were not effective, I suspect one pair detached from the wing. But without the bits I will never know.

I found an old pic showing the velcro I use (white strips hanging out of wing opening). I glued a piece across the wing opening and put two small pieces under the wing. It works fine. I was afraid that the magnets I had were too strong.

That's the way I favor for holding on the wings with velcro.

A note to anyone who does a full wing spar mod. Bolster the tail too, add ailerons or a larger rudder! If not, it becomes like turning a tug boat!

It may not have helped that I tested out the new spar in heavy winds. Needless to say, it crashed wing first at high speed, spar was bent and went straight through the top of the fuselage.

It is obvious when you think about it but.. a good lesson learned. Out with the epoxy!

Try to have a bit of patence with me but there are about 400 pages so apologies if i am sure its been asked before.
I really love this plane but i am no beginner but intermediate but i am now on the verge of buying the MK2 because i really have missed it but i want something a bit more zippy shall we say. Ploughing through my old speed controllers the biggest is a 35amp and i have dug up a http://www.emaxmodel.com/views.asp?hw_id=250 with the 4950 rating.

I am unsure whether although i think i took these of a flying wing whether they would be suitable and how much of an upgrrade would they be as i suspect not much but it could save some cash but if not reccommendations would be great please...

Who has a powerful set up on here
