New world record!

IT IS CONFIRMED!!!!!I just spoke to John....he flew a stock fully moded KINETIC 100 to this new almost absurd speed.

Witness was Marlan and Chris Bosley to name a few. Wind was 55mph and very smooth at lake Isebella. 72 degrees and perfect conditions.

Personally I love that a production model designed by Spencer, and manufactured by his own relationships , has achieved such a feat!

All of us that know John Buxton l, can enjoy and share his most amazing success!!!!!! We all knew he'd get there, but now he has!

Certainly from the soaring community in general , and the DS community specifically CONGRATULATIONS. And of course to share this sucess with Spencer who has brought such a fine model for all to have access to.......it's all amazing!

Simply amazing! Congrats John.
When will the madness ever end?

I was looking at the wind info for the day for that nearby Weldon weather station showing
wind from about 250 degrees, steady 20 and gusting over 30 (and figured
it must be 50+ on the ridge, and my thought was "If there's anyone there to
fly it with the right plane, they're going to go 400+ today".

Speed of sound at Weldon's altitude is ~750mph.

445mph / 750 = Mach .593333

Congratulations John! That is absolutely insane. I knew you the thumbs in you to push the limit!

Incredible! I love the way the WR goes up in huge steps lately. Way to go John. JW says on Lift Ticket that Mach 0.6 is possible. Truly amazing plane and skills. Congratulations!!!
