Last week Thursday morning at 5am I had -30 F, which was refreshing.
Yesterday morning 5am it was 40 F, no minus, which felt smeltering hot and it rained, it rained hard all day long. 5pm it started to snow, sleet, soaking wet.
It felt like end of March.
It never stoped sleeting/snowing/raining. In a way I llucked out, 5 degree colder and we would have been buried in snow, snowed in.
2 inches of rain on the old snowpack and than an additional 2 inches of moisture as sleet, snow, would have been about 3 feet of snow.

I aint bitching, yet, because I need to have the lakes full so I can play with my sheetboats, which I could not after June last year, water was 40feet down in McPhee in June no wind going into the Canyon.

Its going to be avalanch heaven in the High Country.

Almost the last day of January.
It's in the mid 60's outside.
Rain has taken all the snow again.
But more to come and cold again for the weekend.

In a city known for its unusual weather this month is one of the strangest ever.
My Dr (an avid skier) told me today they just spent thousands of $$ making snow where he skis and its all melted from the rain.

But any warm weather in the usual frosty region I live in works for me!

We just got in from Florida last night, 15 degrees and about an inch of snow on the ground.

This morning it started to snow moderately, and hasn't stopped---.

Alright already---!

This part of Florida is 52 this morning and I have a light jacket on and a couple of space heaters running to warm the place up. My furnace is not running because it needs a new heat exchanger. It will be 70 by noon if not before and by three I will be running the fans if not the A/C. Veddy strange, veddy strange indeed.
Kap the cold doesn't hurt the vines does it? Can they withstand freezing ok? Pete

For one of the very few times since we moved I'm glad I'm not back in CT. Too old for all the coming snow.

Blizzard warning in effect from now until Saturday afternoon with wind gusts to 55mph. I can deal with the snow but with those winds and heavy snow there is a good chance of power outages once again!

Maybe 75 mph winds in Boston and up to 28 inches of snow. The NE is gonna get hit again.Hunker down boys and girls.Stay warm.
The tail end of the same storm is going to hit here in a couple of hours or less with lots of rain and thunder storms.Probably rain tomorrow too. For us that's a good thing right now. Pete

Weather forecasts for this weekend look pretty wild, with lots of snow and high winds in the offing---.

Whoopee---.

Came in about a half hour ago from digging out the driveway. We got 6" last evening. Was 1/3 of the way shoveling and stopped to call the boss for a snow day. The street was still untouched and I was wondering what do I do if I get the car that far. Plow just came through so I can run errands later. Tomorrow we are supposed to have a perfect day, then rain on Sunday.

You guys back east take it easy and maintain an even strain. We have had enough obit threads on the forum for awhile.
