Wingo Wing Failure - Ouch!

On the third perfect flight of my Wingo this morning, disaster struck. I put the plane in a steep dive and then pulled up, planning to do a loop. Well, the stress split the wing right down the center. Needless to say, I came home with a box of parts. Nothing some glue and time won't fix, though.

My question: I've heard of folks reinforcing foam wings. I guess that must be a good idea! How is the reinforcing done? What material is used?

Sounds like one of your wing supports came loose.

You can tape the parts with "thin" packaging tape like they use for the JKAerotech planes like the T-52. This tape is quite a bit thinner (read lighter) than the stuff you buy at Walmart, etc. ZAGI tape will also work. Overlap each spanwise length of tape by about 1/2" starting the first strip at the trailing edge. Better yet, read the T-52 taping procedure.

Goto "Instructions and Tech Stuff", than to T-52 building Instructions.

The WINGO fuselage is generally what comes apart.

By the way, the T-52 is nearly indestructible.
