Hstore Indoor Flying Appreciation thread

Just wanted to congratulate Hstore on running the most successful session to date.

It was very well run and safety was vastly improved from the earlier sessions. The netting was a great idea and did catch a few strays.

There were no serious incidents all night and everyone had a heap of fun. Lots of crashes. I think I had a big share trying to 3D (badly).

Come on down to the next one. Please help support this great event.

Feel free to post photos / videos on the night if you have any.

Was anyone else there?

Mr. K and I_love_my_ABC were there.

Regards,

Mal.

Well said Mal. It was an excellent night and very professionally run without being "stuffy" and pretentious. Just a load of guys doing what they like in a great environment.

Ian and his crew must be congratulated for while it is his business he obviously loves it. Which is a lot more than I can say for some of the hobby stores in Sydney. It's a big thing to set up and run each month and on a Saturday night as well.

Was good to see you and Larry, meet Glen (the guy hovering the big flatty like a magician), and there were a few guys there that I have met before at the Strathfield indoor nights. Apparently there were over 30 flyers!!!

Anyway I'll definitely be back, it's a perfect environment to encourage home builds as the hardware for these size models is relatively cheap. I've had a rummage through my old mags and have 4 or 5 plans that have me thinking, and there are heaps on the net.

mmmmmm NUTTA!!!

Geez that Butterfly flys nice. Will be interesting Glen you say she's a bit heavy running the 1000 3 cell and biggish motor turning an 11x4.7 prop. I wonder if smaller lighter power system running a smaller prop will reduced prop wash over control surfaces and hence reduce slow speed control. Let us know if you try a light weight solution and how it goes.

I downloaded the Mini 3Dx plans from this page.

http://www.foamyfactory.com/

Probably won't have it ready for the 8th as I'm modding my Hobbyzone Supercub for slow indoor flight . But maybe next month. Watch the video it's awesome.

The i-Jet is born!

The i-Jet (indoor) is now available from Hstore.

This is the small delta that was flying at the Feb meeting. There is a picture on the Hstore website under the indoor photos.

http://www.hstore.com.au/hstore.asp

Be quick, only one left for sale now before the next meeting. Two others already sold. Orders are being taken by Hstore. $49.50

All EPP, almost indestructable. Ready to install your gear. 450mm span

Airframe comes with hinges and horns. Weight approx 28 grams.

Flying weight approx 80-110 grams.

Recommended motor brushless 10grams with 5" X 3 prop. (can fit up to 6").
2 X servos 9grams or less. 5 gram or less recommended.
350 2S Lipo. 5-10 amp ESC.

I get over 10 minutes flying using 350ma EvoLites.

There is talk of running indoor combat / racing sessions if we get enough of them going.

See you at the next session.

Another great night last night. Lots of great flying from the 3d foamies. But the Supercub had them running scared, it's an indoor beast.

Anyone interested in this idea. We see if Ian will agree to make the last 15minutes "last man standing combat". You fly whatever you want (foam) and try and knock each other down. If you hit the floor for whatever reason, damage, bad flying, dead battery, anything, you are out. Last man standing gets bragging rights... Until next month.
