Hi,

I would like to change the receiver of my 27MHz HZ super cub in order to exploit the receiver I found in the package of my new DX6i transmitter (that is a spektrum AR6200 DSM2).

Which are the ESC (and eventually motors?) that fits with the less modification efforts?

you can use a 30A esc and a 480 brushless - i would recommend e-flite. also, lots of options on the url i just gave you.

I bolted a Park 450 right on mine - don't think I even had to drill any holes. You only need an 18-amp Castle Thunderbird for that. You have to replace both servos too, I used HS-55 servos, they fit right in.

Jasmine, why do you need to replace both servos? I currently have an extra Parkzone 450 motor that came out of my T-28 Trojan and have a 30 amp e-flight ESC that I can use to convert my SC to brushless. Do you use the gearbox, or direct drive for the prop?

i believe the stock servos in the super cub are 5 wire servos. they won't plug into a standard 3 wire receiver.

Yeah that's the reason. It has two servos so you need two new ones that work with the standard receiver.

Pretty sure the Trojan uses a 480 motor? Direct drive is the only way to go.

I think a 480 is too much power, therefore extra weight you don't need. It can be flown that way, but it will need tail weight to balance and it won't be as floaty - maybe a good thing.

yep. pz t-28 stock is 480.

But does this motor fit the Super Cub stock gearbox?

No, you will remove the gear box entirely. It's only needed for high speed motors and we're talking about low speed direct drive motors.

It's a Hitec Servo... any servo around this size will work...
