I thought that blue Wii Motion+ board with ITG3205 gyro on it is too big for me so decided to cut off unneeded parts.

And also mated it with the Sparkfun BMA180 accelerometer breakout board.
Works good and it's really tiny...

Hey c2po,

What language and micro are you using to connect to the gyro? I've got a teensy and I've successfully read the WHOAMI register off the ITG3205, but I can't get proper data from other registers. In fact, the only registers which give non-zero data (seemingly random data) aren't those expected from the datasheet. Does the ITG3205 behave the same way (interface-wise) as the ITG3200?

Hey iancl,

Welcome to the forums!
I use Arduino boards, which uses Arduino language, it is based on Processing and very close to C/C++ but simplified a little bit for beginners.
Mainly that project is for the MultiWiiCopter initially based on cheap Wii Motion+ boards as a gyro, and Wii Nunchuk boards as an accelerometer. You can find more information in the thread about MultiWiiCopter.

From what I experienced that ITG3205 has exactly all the same specs as ITG3200 and I used ITG3200 specification from Invensense, and I was able to read all the registers I needed, including 3 axis gyro data, temperature, and whoami.

Let me know if you need any samples of the code for Arduino, I can post it here, I borrowed it from other project and just modified a little bit.
