Airtronics Kit Model Numbers

I've tried to assembled a list of model numbers for Airtronics kits, but have come up a little short. Can anyone fill in the missing names or numbers?

The early model number series is filled in with the exception of 900202. The only vintage sailplane name I can think of that's missing from the list is the Mini-Olympic, and it would also be of the correct era to slot in between the Olympic 88/99 and the Questor.

Can anyone confirm that 900202 was the Mini-Olympic... or what 900202 was?
900201 - Olympic 88/99
900202 - ___ (which kit, Mini-Olympic ?)
900203 - Questor

I have a Eclipse Standard kit, and the model number on the box is 900218. What is the number for the Eclipse Deluxe kit? The model number series is filled in solid through the Legend (900220), and there is no open number. Were both versions of the Eclipse sold as 900218, or did the Deluxe come much later, after the Legend?

900218 - Eclipse Standard (airframe only)
_____? - Eclipse Deluxe (motor, gearbox, folding prop)

What is the model number for the Whisper 95
900219 - Whisper 2M
_____? - Whisper 95

I have a kit box that says "Legend" and "900220", and a vintage magazine ad that says "Legend SC" with no model number. Were there two variations on the Legend theme. If so, what is the model number for the Legend SC?
900220 - Legend
_____? - Legend SC (113", S3021 Airfoil, 10.9 oz/sq ft)

Finally, there was a late series of sailplanes that were designed outside of Airtronics. Can anyone supply the model numbers for:
_____? - Thermal Eagle (118", RG15 Airfoil)
_____? - Falcon 550E (78.8", Eppler 387 Airfoil)
_____? - Falcon 660
_____? - Falcon 880 (92141?, not six digits?)
_____? - Peregrine (117", SD7037 Airfoil)
_____? - Sapphire
_____? - Steath (79.5", RG15 Airfoil)

Are any missing?

A JPEG of a vintage magazine ad that shows the Peregrine, Thermal Eagle, Falcon 550, Legend SC and St___h (?). A light reflection obscures the last name, but as far as I can squint/ imagine/ make out, it says Stealth. Is that correct?

Thanks,
Tim

Thanks Bill, every bit helps.

> 900219 Eclipse Deluxe kit
You're sure of that? It makes perfect sense that the two Eclipse models would be back to back in sequence, so I'm betting you're spot on. But long ago some one else posted that 900219 was the Whisper 2M, so I'm just looking for a confirmation.

A Whisper 2M just sold in the classifieds section... I'll PM to see if I can get a model number there.

Thanks for your help,
Tim

talked to Jack? There is also a ATX users group on Yahoo groups I think.Have you checked it
out? Bill

Any idea of dates of introduction for these? It would be interesting to know when the Oly 99/88 was released to start the line off.

Sherpa,
I wasn't aware of Airtronics Specialty Division, or the separate model number format. Thanks for that info.

What was the difference between a Legend, and a Legend SC?

Thanks,
Tim

Jim
Jim,
I don't have a specific date for the Oly 99/88's introduction, but in the Sailplane series of model numbers, it was the first 900201. According to the AMA's biography of Lee Renaud"...

“The founder of Airtronics, Inc., in 1971, Lee Renaud continued his search for excellence in all areas of his chosen field. The “Olympic 99” was the first large sailplane to be manufactured in this country and was the airplane responsible for teaching many people to thermal fly."

Regards,
Tim

Bill,
ATX ?? Can you point me there? Or am I being dense, and ATX is code for Airtronics?

Thanks,
Tim

Thanks, Tim, for your response and for putting this data together. I do remember small 99/88 ads back then and will have to sift through the few old magazines I have to find the dates. I did build an Olympic 99 starting in January or February 1974, but I bet they were around a while before that.
