I had a chance to paint the Chubby, we had a few days of rain.
The sun came back out so I was excited to try a maiden flight. I also received a new motor I ordered the Tigre .10. A bit big for this plane, I didn't know it was so large when I ordered it. I'm not sure what size or weight plane this motor is for ( I still have alot to learn) but it worked Great in the Chubby!! I flew at 3/4 throttle or less the whole time. With a 9/6 prop the plane did nice rolls, loops and verticles. I ran out of batt. on the cam. but it was a Great flight bumpy landing I broke my prop but its ok I have plenty thanks to HK ![]()

Reading more about these Lipos, a statement was made that the standard NiMh fully charged can reach 12.16V, but that that voltage drops rapidly to 11.6v, which I was used to seeing on the display.
So looking at my charger I see I have a storage option that charges each cell to 3.860, for a total of 11.580v (if I added that correctly). Seems like a reasonable way to charge the battery. I can lower this per-cell voltage, but so far, I have not had any issues with my DX7 - maybe just a matter of time. So I think I have probably talked too much about this. Dalton - what are the new plans your mentioned? Bob |

Bob,
Ton's of Thanks for posting the video! I had not reset my alarm and really needed to do that. You've not talked to much, that is how we learn from each other, so keep it coming. ![]() I drew up plans for an idea I had. You know me, always trying to put a twist on with some nutty idea. I'm really just playing. Have you built anything new? |

I have charged mine to 12.2 in my Futaba now. I think the biggest issue is when someone uses a fully charged 20C pack, the initial end rush of 20C is just too hot. The Pack I have is like 6C. I have now went to the 2S2000 6C lipo for the RX in my new Profile Glow Plane, it feeds a Turnigy UBEC and gives a solid 6 volts to the RX and Servos. Lighter then the Nicad / Nimh bats and you get a better health info just from Lipos. |
