Just wanted to share my most recent buy. The Artec 8.5" LCD portable TV. Works great for fpv and is a very decent price! I bought mine at my local Sayal electronics, but very easy to find online.
Also for the record it does black/blue screen but only after SEVERE signal lose, it will give you enough "snow" warning before black screen to correct/turn back. After black screen picture comes back within 1-2 seconds after signal received.

Great buy, highly recommended.

Please tell me what camera you use for fpv. The reason I ask is because I have a Sony 600 tvl super had II, and I have a 7" haier tv, but the haier shows grainy video. Is the video clear with the camera you use. When I use my laptop as a moniter the video comes out crystal clear. Please dont leave me hanging on this one, I'm looking for a better portable tv. Thanks

Actually i use the GoPro 960 as my camera because i like the fact that it also records live time as well. if your interested send me a PM so i remember and ill send you a pic of the setup/wiring later on. Would do it now but have company over and im just in the garage for a moment by myself so figured id check the forums.

..and yes the video/picture is crystal clear. Using BevRC 5.8ghz 200mw system. although ive done ground range tests with motor running only and havent actually flown it as i just set it up tonday and was raining all day..

This TV is perfect for my purposes, it is easy to set up, great image and what I liked best is the info button which allows one to check out the details of the show you are watching even when not connected to cable.

Looks like the brightness is only 220 nit
Have you tried it in bright daylight?
I am betting you will need a good sun shield box to see anything.

Sverlander, good idea. We should start a USABLE monitors thread. The monitors must display a Crystal clear image.

I didnt know anything about brightness or monitors when i bought this, but yes, after my first test in direct sunlight it was pretty dark and hard to see.

After making a decent sun box out of black coroplast and turning up the brightness & contrast settings on the tv itself i now find it PERFECT and very easy/nice to look at.
