Wanted Envirotex coated plane pics

Hey guys I would like to get some good pictures of RC stuff made with envirotex planes, boats and what not. eti-usa.com is going to get a update and some RC pics would be a great addition. You can post them here or PM me for my email. If you would like to try some I can get all you want.
Thanks Derek

Doesn't look like this stuff would have many applications in RC - too heavy and too thick. Maybe for boats? I have heard of it before but its used to make a thick, hard clear coat on tables and bar or counter tops.

It is marketed towards bar tops but can be used for many different things. I see some people thin it with alcohol. When cured it's very tough but will still have some flex and give to it. It won't eat foam either so you can put a thin layer on foamies. I am connected to the owner/ maker of envirotex so if there is a builder out there that would like to give it a try I can send you some small kits to try free of charge..
Thanks Derek

Envirotex can be used thinned with alcohol to apply fiberglass to sheeted balsa surfaces like WBPU. last time I used it was on a 82" Me 109 G6 back in the 80's.

What's the advantage over a regular epoxy finishing resin, such as Z-Poxy or my personal favourite, West System? Sounds to me like Envirotex may stays a bit more flexible, which means poor sanding.

I only glass my planes with Envirotex and I do thin it with denatured alcohol. No give, no flex, and provides a perfect paintable finish. I will dig up some photos and post them here.

Hi Frank

I think I used it because you could buy it in home improvement stores at the time and was recommended in several magazine articles. At the time it was cheaper then the harder to get industrial products. Don't know how it compares now because I use WBPU instead. (I hate being sticky ).

Nice job! Thanks for sharing they look great. It looks like 2 have a flat finish and 2 have a glossy finish. Have you ever tried mixing paint or dye in with epoxy.

I haven't because I like to airbrush the final paint. Great stuff for glassing though!
